BOSTON HERALD & WEEI

2011-2013

After his sophomore year of high school, Joon interned at the Boston Herald, starting by taking calls at the office before earning opportunities to support reporters in the Red Sox clubhouse and Patriots locker room — conducting interviews and transcribing alongside working journalists.

In 2013, Joon continued his education at WEEI, Boston's storied sports radio station, helping cover the Red Sox alongside veteran reporters Alex Speier and Rob Bradford. That season, he had a front-row seat to a championship run, watching up close how elite journalists covered a team on its way to a World Series title.
